You gotta get Destin on this. Do a collab with Smarter Every Day. He'll figure it out.
Brilliant idea!
what exactly is there to work out? physics...

Glass is glass. And glass do break
12:57 Back and to the left.
The intro be like im hot get SHOT
Pew pew
Man I live for the intros 🤣
It was a good throw Bro
Looks like it is focusing the energy just like it was light.
Cause of the cracks on the back of the glass ball is because the pressure travels through it
The answer is simple. The glass balls sides are untangled.
I love your intro
D-did he just kill himself?
I bet if he shot a gun that shot actual vibration energies that glass ball will look like dust.
This is soooo trippy
"it's gone"
almost 10 milion, please, get a super slo mo camera!!
Big facts
Ничего не понятно, но очень интересно)
this man is obsesed with blowing stuff up with incendiary tipped 50 cal.
You are the best
Btw, Kinetic energy from the bullet coaleces on the opposite side, knocking some chunks off in the rebound
Much love to a fellow mad lad gun and demo enthusiast, but for the love of H&K just fuck shit up, skits ain't your forte my man. Oh and the glass ball thing is a result of kinetic energy from your bullet passing thru the ball and instead of being able to pass on the energy to another object, the energy bounces around the ball after crashing into the back, creating damages you saw on the backs, then dissipating within the ball. I am no scientist, I only know some basic and fundamental laws. I have never shot at a "crystal" ball before however
The physics are the gun fires the bullet at such high speeds that when it hits the glass balls but there still force left from the impact and it travels through the ball and out the other side.
I laughed way too hard when the tiny ball broke when he threw it
You may have inhaled glass dust, don't try this at home!
The sudden committee arthroscopically excite because signature controversly continue round a illustrious damage. purple, dead sailboat
U should make your 44.magnum gold!
Art made with destruction
He has a very honest way about him. It's like he is not trying to be something he's not
I would call that a shockwave
Super trippy.. 😵
best intro yet lol
i buy ranch gift cards in 60K $
Hi
hydrostatic shock
How did he survive your shot him three times
You should be wearing a mask out there when shooting glass my dude. You're breathing in glass dust.
Its the same Idea as a newtons cradle.
It hurts my eyes
Is the g-force behind that bullet when that bullets flying in and it hit something hard like that the old like that ball the bullet has enough Force when it hits it it stops but there's more force behind that bullet so it says that Force through the force impact something it will crack it
Matt has singlehandedly convinced me of the importance of eye pro
Every science teacher is fuming at this vid
Technically it did stop the 50
Demo ranch: how to make the world's coolest center piece
2:30 Matt shot first. 4:18 You're right. So why do you own it?
Because glass is not a solid or a liquid it's in-between. So I'm guessing it's like Shockwaves threw the glass like ripples on a pond but really slow.
Glass is an amorphous solid.
The reason it does damage on the back is because of force being pushed through the glass ball and then exiting causing a crack to appear
I love this channel but never cared for the intros...
Kinetic energy.
Everytime I go shooting I end up with a stuffy nose I think I'm allergic to gunpowder
happening is it Halloween costume
When you can shoot your target n keep a souvenir ‼️😂
That powdered glass really gets your nose going.
More of this indeed
I refuse to acknowledge that he doesn't know what spalling is.
Next can you see if a 50cal can go through the thickest glass in the world
When i realize its just glass 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
well you better clean this up in the end
wow man 2 shots missed in a row jeez
I think it’s becuase of the kinetic waves that fallow bullets through the air the cracks in the back is just because the force didn’t expand and just went completely straight forward Edit: and force travels easily through solid objects without breaking it
If you’re gonna correct me then please do I am not a god damn physicist
thumbnail looks like Mcgregor lol
Since when can glass not break? idc if its thick glass should break by 1 small hit
14:28 I think the reason bullet change direction to down is, it hits the lower side of the sphere and the surface of it leads the bullet to down.
i wonder who the carema person is
Use a really nice high speed camera so we can see what's going on.
Bet you didn’t see this coming: POp POP POP me: MAN JUST GOT DEMOED
Can we talk about how in 14:16 a glass shred fly towards your cameraman and he/she didn't move or make a noise? That's have some balls
4:52 AIM to balls hit the head :D
Me: Nooo, you can't shoot stuff with a 50. Cal! That's too easy! Matt: Haha, Barret go BOOM
The shock from the bullet has to go somewhere. So it wrapped around the ball then focused in the one area causing the glass to get knocked out.
Glass dust is making you sneeze
It’s actually quite simple, the bullet stops but it’s force still travels
Donut!
it kinetic energy
You should make a series that only include intros
We all knew it would shatter the ball but we all came for the intros
the second mark inside the sphere is because of the impact wave it causes inside by increasing the pressure through the sphere's surface and it meets at a point behind the sphere. the farther away from the actual impact point the second mark is, the more powerful the shot is. so if the sphere's radius was smaller (such that the second mark is outside the sphere) it will break. makes sense ? im not 100 percent sure if this is right, its just what i think.
I would do this to a glass orb and just put up as a piece of art because when you just use the pistol ammo and it doesn't break its just beatiful
Iwant to shoot because i allready have shoteed g3 and ak47 and makrov
Bro u inhaled glass dust. Thats why u sneezed so many times and u couldn't breathe! u should visit the doctor! (no hate)
Those hits on the backside even if the bullet didn't travel through are probably the same logic as Bunkers in the World War. Explosives wouldn't penetrate them, but still knock out pieces that would kill the Soldiers inside anyway.
Looked like you breathed in lots of glass dust mate, hope you've had your lungs scanned since this video was made
Shockwave
If you think of glass as being like water, you can understand how a shockwave could be transmitted through the glass. If you exploded something on the top on your pool, there would be the splash and all things equal, you would crack the gunnite base of the pool without displacing all the water. It’s something molecular that I heard or read about too long ago.
Its messing with my eyes lol
It's the same phenomena that allows a Newton's Cradle to work.
You don't need a 50cal or giant building to throw it off to shatter that ball, you just need to crush a spark plug and take a tiny pebble from the broken spark plug porcelain the size of a grain of sand and flick it with your finger at the ball and the ball will shatter into a million pieces, also hes sneezing and what not from the glass powder
Sounds about right, near I-10... We like shooting old televisions with shotguns and blowing up antbeds with homemade devices out our way for fun! Interesting video, I like it, glad the flying glass apparently didn't hurt anyone.
Glass is actually a very thick liquid, not a solid, and the impact creates ripples which travel around the sphere. When all of the ripples converge on the back side of the sphere, they amplify each other, and it’s apparently enough to shatter some of the glass.
@T Boman I hear you, no problem. I like to stop misinformation too.
@Charlie Evergreen Just trying to stop misinformation. The myth that glass is a slow moving liquid has been repeated too often.
@T Boman That’s fine. The point about the traveling and converging ripples still stands, which was the real point I was making. No need to snark about it. Also, an amorphous solid is in a category between liquid and solid, and it has properties of both. I appreciate your point, but not the attitude.
No glass is NOT a thick liquid. Glass is an amorphous solid. Look it up.
7:59 My theory is the bullet hitting vibrated the glass to a point where it shattered a small area INSIDE the ball.
The reason the back cracked is newtons law of Physics
Matt: "I think the curse is making me sneeze." Me: Yeah definitely not the airborne glass particles, that's normal lol
“That’s another fifty” If I were here I would throw him a 50cal
Glass is actually a slow moving liquid. When you hit it, it transferred the energy in a kinetic wave until it reached the far side. I think the shape has something to do with the kinetic wave being echoed in the parabola from both sides.
No glass is Not a slow moving liquid. Glass is an amorphous solid. Look it up.
14:13 old fortnite heavy sniper rifle be like
I love how creative all these Intros are
15:20 when that cedar fever hits
transfer of energy bro, it's all focusing on the opposite spot you hit
like hesh
7:41 wow wtf it looks like when a game miscalculates wich texture to load first. as in it looks like the hole should be behind the ball but it isnt XD
