  • Honestly if I knew I would get this level of creativity out of 40 dollar animations I would hire this person many times in the future! Often very skilled graphic professionals (that also cost a lot of money) are very skilled but don’t have very good style or creative genius - so I would never trust one to just work on a brief without clear visual reference and instructions. That student for 40$ will hopefully manage to get far with her career

  • I don't know much about these creators, but I think that the $40 one being an animation student while the others are (I assume) motion designers and/or logo designers, says something. The $40 animation was the most different but I don't find it was that innovative in concept when it comes to how animators typically do things, their approach was more cartoonish while the rest were much more commercial, in exception of the $75 one, which I think would be my favourite although I may be biased as I like it from a stylistic stand point (it reminds me of the PowerPuff Girls or other cartoons from that time) not to say that that $40 animation was bad, it was pretty good and the "main thrust" as Ben says was amazingly done! It's just that it's something I'd be unsurprised to see as a an animator's ISworlds intro meanwhile something like the $180 being more for design youtubers or even anything-else-youtubers. I'm not sure if what I'm saying makes sense but it's basically down to different development processes and habits.

  • For my third world country friends please charge more, at least 25$ an hour or if you're a digital illustrator / artist don't charge less than 25-30$ for figure drawings. If you are insecure about your art, you can charge less first but as soon as you get more clients increase your charges! That's the way i did it ! You are charging for the years of art you have practiced and honed your skill not for how fast/effortlessly you have the ability to do it now . If you are a client and see someone's undercharging please tip them like Ben here did :>

  • Just my two cents: I actually think the animator gave you a free gift by exporting you a QHD 1440p final piece (but agreed the frame rate is ??). I often tell my vendors to send me their highest definition originals for archival, rather than the size we use in production. Down the line, it's better to have higher-def material sitting on ice than be stuck with a low-res product for the rest of time. For videos, our vendors always shoot 8K but we broadcast in 1080p. I'm thankful that they give us the 8K files for storage because they're almost future-proof in terms of resolution.

  • to be honest, i really like the first one the most. it definitely has the most heart. i think it was my favourite from the start the others have a digital or processed kind of feeling to it maybe, except that third one i think, like they're moving a bat around rather than animating it by hand

  • I wonder why they all tend to be off-center to the right. May it be, because the white gloss effect thingy at the upper left side of the bubble moves the "grey value" towards the left, and to compensate that, they move the whole graphical element to the right? (yeah, i come from a typographical background...)

    LupinoArtsLupinoArts8 dögum síðan
  • For the first one, the guy literally gave you a higher resolution @1440p, for most NLE, if you start a 1080p24 project, all clips will be shoehorned to that format. You can always take pixel data away, you can never put it back.
