NEVER TOO SMALL 44sqm/473sqft Transforming Studio Tiny Apartment - Abruzzi
In order to maximise space in this small 44sqm apartment ATOMAA had to completely reimagine it’s floor plan, moving a troubling central bathroom that awkwardly split the home in two. This in turn allowed ATOMAA to expand the living and dining spaces, and introduce more natural light throughout the home. Using flexible sliding doors and curtains to facilitate the open transmission of light, and ease of movement throughout the home; yet still allow for privacy when needed. The addition of a laundry and a new, warmer & brighter material palette throughout leave this micro apartment almost unrecognizable compared to its previous form.

Would Y=you ever think of coming to India! We need these beautiful perfect homes here too!!!!!
I will takeout the all those curtains
I love the flexibility but I feel like a trick was missed with the high ceiling which could've put the bed up high, but I understand some people don't want to / can't climb up to bed every night.
So cute!! 😍
It's heartbreaking to see the historical building covered by graffiti, just couldn't figure out a word to describe such disgraceful behavior 😢.
Beautiful apartment
awesome
The alluring fan opportunely mine because encyclopedia implicitly burn unlike a slow crayfish. outgoing, plausible creek
Not into the curtains
Well I don't trust what I'm looking at because in most scenes the kitchen looks huge (see 2:45, 2:56) but in some views it looks crazy small (see 3:07). So you are stretching the video in places just the real estate agents do for their listings. Geez dude, this apartment isn't for sale, why are you tricking us like this? Ugg, shame on you.
I love how the apartment reads as retro in a very unpretentious way. The kitchen as the heart of the space works very well.
those curtains are brutal! and one sided fabric too lol
SIMPLY FANTASTIC.
Sooper
Something is wrong with that Sliding Doors. Looks like someone bumped their head too many times.
See the elevator, stairs dark, i feel horror but the apartment light n comfortable
The kitchen becomes very closed of and dark with those doors and curtains. I would have instaled frosted glas panel doors were the curtains are to have more light in the kitchen area.
The floor and wooden doors looks nice. But I'm not a fan of the layout (the curtains aren't necessary). The washing machine could be bigger (it's just me).
Buenos Aires!!!
Jesus did you guys get Wes Anderson as the cinematographer? Love the style of these videos
Make your title smaller and not so difficult for the search engine to find. That's a lengthy title, man! What I wanted to point out, there is no storage that is added to the space. Like underbed storage or a bed onto of a mobile closet. No boxes attached close to the ceiling where books can hide from dust. Or a headboard that can be space for a closet behind the bed that has storage under the bed that can convert into a desk or table to eat on. Can we see more forethought instead of design. We need storage ideas as well as how pretty you can make it. Right now I need sutrufuge and how to hide my clutter. Video is so boring without clever storage ideas, not more clutter on display! Thank you.
Still dark, like the first layout but with all the lights on you wouldn't notice. Nice home, though.
Ingenious
The entry to the apartment make me scared...😂😂😂
44 sqm is quite big no ?
"Full kitchen". Nope. You forgot working space.
"It was a very dark apartment" So we put 362892 lights to make it look brighter for the video
I would use the sliding doors to separate kitchen and living, but overall I like this design, great use of spaces
The guy who designed the original floorplan must've been like "Hmm yes! Half of the house will be kitchen, the other half bedroom. Perfect!"
this is, by far, the best layout I've seen 👌
I always find it rather sad that none of these apartments have any character left from the original building. As a piece on its own its nice, but it lacks context.
The curtains ruin the apartment. Looks like a hospital.
I'm in love with this building and the phenomenal use of space here.
This is one of, if not, the best building, the best design, of all!!! I think this is my favorite :) The architect has an excellent eye for interior design as well, or they've cooperated well, coz you can see how everything blends together beautifully & functionally. Thank you for showing us this wonderful historical buildings!!!
rich people casually restructering and designing their whole apartments
Lovely designed!
The sliding doors are amazing, the curtains between the jitchen and the living room are creative but feel very intrusive and present? A pocket/sliding door system of smaller panels with some transparent areas would keep the cluther from the kitchen out of the sitting area while still providing a spacious feel. Similarly with the open space above the hallway, its a really good storage space but without something to cover it, it'll quickly feel cluttery? Wouldn't it have made sense to use closed sliding panels there as well?
Love the dual access to the bathroom and how the closet door is also utilized. The diagonal flooring is such a great design feature.
The courtains a very unapealing. they look very cheap !
They don't make buildings like that anymore. That staircase was beautiful
Didn't like the floor but I loved the full size fridge!
There are peep holes in the bedroom door lol
beutifull
Nice but kinda gave me that "hospital feeling". Plus I wouldn't consider this flat small... doesn't really convince me a hundred percent...
le tende no......
Besides it being easy to remove when needed, why do architects prefer using curtains to separate space instead of sliding glass doors?
This is soo beautifull! Thank you for sharing this!!
Genius way of organizing space, only thing the bedroom seems a little bit too empty. Ben fatto in ogni caso!
Is it just me or I thought I saw a loft above the *bathroom @ 2:08
The colour choices and the lighting are depressing
sooooooo goooooooood
absolutely perfect
beautiful interior, furniture, and color palette but fabric partitions in such a small space are unnecessary.
Bidets are still a thing in Italy. 👍🏻
my studio is 20 m2..........
What’s the orange thing on the kitchen counter?

Milan... a city once wonderful, now disgusting, dirty and plagued with insecurity
Could not follow the new layout .
Mostly unrelated to the video, could I ask some of the architects and designers who's reading this a question? I've decided that I'm going to pursue an interior designing career, however I'm not sure if it's better for me to take an architecture course instead of an interior designing course. Any tips or advice? Esp bcuz I'm not sure if there's much demand for interior designers specifically if there are more architects.
For many people in the Far East, that is not a small apartment.
This is so good!
This is bigger than the apartment I live in.
Loved it ❣️
not a fan of the curtain dividers but the space is nice especially with the high ceilings
I'm sorry, but what's with that curtain?
I love the layout of that place!
I just thought you should have widened the windows and replace one curtain with a designed wall or solid partition for television space. Otherwise looks very decent.
I kind of wish I’d got to see out on the balcony 😋makes me think yeah I could do small space living... well if I had a architect at my disposal lol
How did you move pipe along wc?
Oh wow! This is genius!!
that is huge!!!
this is so ugly ohhhhh my eyes
Like everything, except the curtains.
I wanna live in that elevator!
I love this apartment but where do you put your food? Not enough cupboards for food...Other than that, aid live there 😍
That thumbnail is like a Japanese horror movie
Italian taste, magnificent!
how cheap it looks from 1 to 10
so beautiful
Lack of art in the apt is kind of depressing.
I would love to live in this! However for me I couldn’t follow where everything was placed it seemed complicated and I don’t personally think I would use all those dividing parts! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I especially love how the bedroom can be separated from the reading nook near the window by closing the door halfway and using the curtain. It really adds a nice space.
I thought it was pointless space -- who would you be trying keep away from in a one bedroom apartment; you've already got a lounge if you want some privacy from your partner
What a beautiful apartment. It would be a pleasure to live there after the renovation. The sliding doors and curtains are a great feature and I note they don't go to the ceiling which would help it feel more open. This is so well thought-out with plenty of storage but not too much, lovely warm-looking interiors and all the modern appliances incorporated. I especially love the floors.
I think the curtains should look more tight and sturdy, now it looks flimsy. The layout is brilliant.
It would look so much better with a rice paper screen sliding door. Lets light through and looks beautiful.
"Never too small tiny 44 sqm studio" hmmm my whole 2 bedroom apartment is 48 sqm.
The curtain between the kitchen and living room could be used to project movies on, if it were white
Milan is a mess. Full of irregular people, homeless, robbers etc.
The floorplan is much improved, and I really like the concept, however there are a few big missed opportunities for me: the height of the ceilings is lost by bringing the partitions down - thats a real shame as what could have felt like an airy space, now feels kind of cramped. Second, the colour scheme and lighting makes the apartment feel cold, by utilizing warmer and lighter tones as well as smart lighting, this could be improved, lastly, i personally dislike the curtains - as someone mentioned, feels hospitaly, would have replaced them with industrial glass partitions with a light curtain only in the bedroom.
That’s huge!
the courtains look messy. but i really like the appartment!
I really like this one. I would use the reading room spot for my home office and I would replace the floating shelves next to the stove with cupboards (you need some closed-off cupboards in your kitchen: no-one wants to see ALL your kitchen stuff). Otherwise, I really like it as is.
This looks great. I really like the transitional function of the spaces, and that you can use the bedroom space but still hide the bed for privacy. Nothing in this apartment looks cramped even though its 473sqft. and that's what I really think it brilliant with the design. Wondering how the bathroom doors lock, I don't think I saw anything on those sliding doors.
Love this design. Also I've just bought a unit where there's a couple of partitions I'd like to create, so it's really good seeing it being done in a space like this.
So funny that they think 44 sqm ist small. My Appartement ist just 25 sqm including bath ans kitchen.
Lovely layout but I feel like the interior design is lacking and doesn’t suit the potential of the space and building itself. I feel more character needs to be brought in this feels too modern
super cool design 👍👍❤
This is my favourite video you've done so far. It's bright, yet the choices of materials give a cozy feeling. The layout is genius and the space is used so well that you feel it's a lot bigger than it is. Fantastic!
So, you have made place for a separate reading room but there are no book shelves anywhere? Ok.
Oh no... I wouldn't want to start my day off in a lightless bathroom 🥺
